John M. Bjelajac

John Bjelajac (pronounced "Bee-logic") was born and raised in Portage, Wisconsin, a small community located about one hour of drive time north of Madison.

He attended University of Wisconsin - Madison, graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. He was then accepted into the Wisconsin Law School program, and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1973. John started his legal career as an assistant in the Racine City Attorney’s Office, and later founded Hartig & Bjelajac with his long-time partner, Judith Hartig-Osanka.  The successor of that firm merged in 2005 with Terry Kallenbach's firm to become what is now Bjelajac & Kallenbach, LLC.

John is now entering his 50th year in the practice of law. Over the years, he has focused on representing clients in the world of real estate, including representing people selling “by owner”; the world of business, including the creation of business entities, buying and selling of businesses, and business contracts; and the world of municipal law, representing persons dealing with governmental bodies, or representing the governing bodies themselves. In addition to his law practice, John is also a part-time Supplemental Court Commissioner for Racine County Circuit Court, and serves on boards of several local charitable organizations.

John truly enjoys his practice of law...it is a way of life for him, and the word “retirement” is simply not a part of his vocabulary. On those occasions when he is not working, John enjoys movies, antiques, and spending time with his sons and his pets.

Terrance L. Kallenbach

Terrance ("Terry") Kallenbach is originally from the small town of Niagara, near the border with Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

He served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971.  When he returned from his service, Terry attended the University of Wisconsin system, graduating in 1976.  He received his Juris Doctor degree from Marquette University Law School in 1979.  Terry was a partner in the Capwell & Berthelsen law firm, the successor of which merged in 2005 with John Bjelajac's firm, becoming what is now Bjelajac & Kallenbach, LLC.

Terry's law practice is primarily in the areas of commercial real estate, residential real estate, and business law.  He is also the Prosecutor in municipal court for the City of Burlington, as well as being a part-time Supplemental Court Commissioner for Racine County Circuit Court.  Terry was a long-time board member and officer of the Kiwanis Club of Racine, and also served on the RAMAC board, the Caledonia Police & Fire Commission, and various other local boards.

Terry and his wife of 48 years have two children, and are the proud grandparents of five granddaughters, who they love spending time with.  He also enjoys cooking, and visiting his family's property in the Northwoods, sitting around a campfire visiting with family and friends.

Having worked for the two law firms that eventually merged to become Bjelajac & Kallenbach, LLC, she brings knowledge and expertise to her job. After working for the firm since 1996 in Racine, she returned home to Canada in 2009 and continued working for our office remotely, putting us on the cutting edge of the “work from home” trend. When not working, Leslie enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling to far off destinations and most importantly, spending time with her four grandchildren.
